Two Easy & Tasty Indian Sweet Dishes

We all love sweet dishes and it is a must to keep dessert after our meal. To make a perfect sweet dish, we need to work hard. We even don’t know that we can make the best sweetmeats with our kitchen’s existing ingredients.

So, here are two easiest recipes of the sweetmeats with your kitchen’s existing ingredients-

Kalakand

Ingredients:

Cottage Cheese: 500 gm

Condensed Milk: 400 gm

Milk Powder: 2 tbsp.

Cardamom Powder: ¼ Tsp.

Almonds & Pistachio: 15-20 (for garnishing)

Process:

At first, grate the cheese and slightly mash it with a spoon. In a nonstick pan, add the cheese, condensed milk, and milk powder respectively. Don’t turn on the stove before mixing the ingredients. Mix the ingredients properly. Once everything is well combined, then switch on the stove and set it in the medium flame and cook this mixture. The mixture will be sticking to the pan. But as it cooks, it will become thick and will start leaving the pan. When it gets thick and is not sticking to the pan, it will be sliding smoothly on the surface of the pan. Now, turn off the flame and add cardamom powder. Then give a nice and final mix. Take the mixture out in a bowl and let it cool down a bit. Meanwhile, take a tray covered with an oily paper. Once the mixture is cooled down a bit, transfer it to the tray. Spread it evenly on the tray, press it down from all sides and level the surface. Sprinkle finely chopped pistachio and almonds evenly. Press them down so that they stick to the mixture. Set this to the refrigerator for 30 to 45 minutes. Once it is set, then take off the block from the tray and cut them into squares. Then your Kalakand is ready.

Milk Peda

Saffron Milk: 3-4 tbsp.

Cardamom Powder: ¼ Tsp.

Butter: 15-20 gm

After some time add condensed milk and mix till everything is well combined. Then add saffron milk and again give a nice mix. The mixture will be thin and will start to stick to the pan. Turn the flame to medium and cook this by constantly stirring. After few minutes, the mixture will turn thick and then will start leaving the pan. Turn off the flame and then add cardamom powder and give a final mix. Transfer the mixture to a plate and let it cool down a bit. While the mixture is still warm, take small amount mixture and roll them into a ball. Then gently press them to make the Pedas. Place a slice of almond and simply push it in.
