Dahi Bhallay with Strip Samosa Recipe
Ingredients for Bhalla:
Skinless black lentils (daal mash) 1 cup
Daal Mong 1/2 cup
Salt 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Green chilies (chopped) 1-2
Water as required
Milk 1 cup
Water 1/2 cup
Oil (for frying) as required

Ingredients for Yogurt Mixture:
Yogurt 1 cup
Milk 1 cup
Sugar 3 tbsp

Ingredients for Dahi Bhallay:
Soaked Bhallay as required
Yogurt Mixture as required
Green chutney as required
Imli chutney as required
Chaat masala as required
Green Coriander (chopped) as required

Ingredients for Dough:
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Salt 1/2 tsp
Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
Ghee 3-4 tbsp
Water as required

Ingredients for Samosa Filling:
Potatoes (boiled) 5-6
Onion (chopped) 1 cup
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
Green chilies (chopped) 1 tbsp
Green coriander (chopped) 1/2 cup
Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp

Directions for Bhalla Preparation:
Add lentils in separate bowls and soak them in water overnight. Now take a chopper and add soaked lentils, salt, black pepper powder, red chili powder, green chilies, water and blend well.
Blend until you reach your desired consistency of mixture and then set aside.
Now on a pan heat oil and add the prepared Bhalla mixture on pan with spoon. Fry it on medium low flame until light golden in color. Set aside.
In a bowl add milk, water and whisk well. Now dip the prepared bhallay into it and let it soak for 10-15 minutes.
Directions for Yogurt Mixture Preparation:
In a bowl add yogurt, milk, sugar and whisk well. Your yogurt mixture is ready.
Directions for Dahi Bhallay:
In a bowl, place soaked bhallay, drizzle yogurt mixture, imli chutney, green chutney, chaat masala, coriander on top. Your Creamy Dahi Bhallay are ready to serve.
Directions for Dough Preparation:
In a bowl add flour, salt, carom seeds, ghee and mix well. Add water gradually and knead a smooth dough. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
Directions for Samosa Filling Preparation:
In a bowl add potatoes, onion, red chili powder, red chili flakes, salt, cumin seeds, coriander powder, green chilies, coriander, black pepper powder and mix well. Your samosa filling is ready.
Directions for Assembling:
Take the dough and cut it into 8 equal parts. Take one part and make it into ball shape. Roll it down into flat circle shape with the help of rolling pin.
Cut the flat dough from center into 2 halves. Place cuts on one half and brush water on the other half.
Wrap the watered half over the other half and make it into triangular samosa shape. Add samosa filling in the samosa and brush water on the edges to seal the samosa properly.
In a pan heat oil and deep fry on low medium flame until light golden in color.
Preparation time: 15-20 mins
Cooking time: 30-40 mins
